I recently installed a single node hadoop cluster and I succesfully run a wordcount job from an input file. Now I am trying to run the same jar with maven but I came through this error:

Your array size is probably 1 so you're going past the last index
Since you're running it like this
mvn exec:java -Dexec.mainClass="WordCount" -Dexec.args="src/main/resources/input1.txt"
Your args will just have 1 element (the input path) which is at index [0]. You need to add an extra argument that supplies your output path (or pick a default path if none is specified). Also if your args is

Its always good practice to check your array size before accessing its elements to avoid an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException
